I've been hearing about this remake for some time but now it's official!
The remake of Poltergeist began filming last September and a release date has just been announced for theatrical release on February 13th, 2015. A Friday the 13th release worked well for Insidious: Chapter 2, so let's see how this one will go. Looks like we a good while to wait for this one, I suppose we all need time for this one to sink in! The same weekend Fifty Shades of Grey and Spongebob SquarePants 2 are set to be released.
The official synopsis:
“In a revisionist take on the classic horror film, a family struggling to make ends meet relocates to an outdated suburban home and is confronted by an angry spirit who kidnaps their youngest daughter and challenges them to band together to rescue her from the clutches of evil.”
